Miss Addisen

Today was a tough day. Addie is definately hitting the frustration of the "terrible two's". She knows what she wants, and she wants to be independent, but she does not have the vocabulary to explain to mom what it is that she wants! And it is VERY frustrating for both of us.

The most aggrivating aspect of all of this is the screaming. I can understand her frustration, but when every 5 seconds she gets upset about something, and just screams at the top of her lungs. She is also starting to throw temper tantrums -- throwing herself on the floor and crying. The don't last very long (thank god) but they sure are dramatic!

Any suggestions to nip this in the bud??? The ONLY thing that we have gotten semi-success with is the "naughty chair" -- just a booster seat we have her sit in for a minute.

maybe try ignoring her temper tantrums? a lot of times people freak out and will do almost anything to get the child to stop. if there is no reaction, that shows the child that this tactic (screaming and throwing themself on the floor) does NOT work. You are providing Addie with everything she needs. She'll be just fine if she doesn't get exactly what she wants when she wants it.
